YOGA CLASSES

Yoga allows a natural way of healing the body/mind and is a natural tonic for heart health and mental harmony. Yoga can significantly reduce physical tension and stress, helping improve mood, immune functioning and overall well-being.

YIN: A quiet, receptive and deeply nourishing practice. Long held floor poses are designed to exercise the deeper structures of the body. This in turn helps stimulate energy flow into the deeper regions of the body, supporting organ health and emotional well-being. Mindfulness is practiced throughout to exercise the mind in attention, stability and presence.

HATHA: Classical yoga poses alongside gentle floor based flowing movements and breathing exercises will strengthen and relax the body and the nervous system.

RESTORATIVE: Props such as bolsters, blankets and blocks are used to support the body and emotions in learning to release and relax deeply.

GENTLE: Emphasising the therapeutic value of yoga, this class will help open, relax and support the body, mind and heart. A blend of restorative and gentler poses with a longer relaxation segment.

FLOW: An enlivening class to lift your mood and energy. A flowing sequence of poses that will improve flexible strength boosting circulation, stamina and mental focus.

FUSION: Classical (as above) blended with essential spinal health exercises from the Pilates repertoire. 


PILATES CLASSES

Human Beings are unique. Our upright posture is unique and therefore our relationship with our backbone is unique. Pilates teaches us to be intimately connected to the body, enhancing posture, energy and how we feel and move.

TLC: A class for those who are experiencing lower back pain or general back complaints. Slow, deep and precise Pilates fundamentals for spinal stability and mobility are our focus …offering your back the tender loving care it deserves!

POSTURE: A general class for those not experiencing any back pathologies. Modifications are offered as well as the use of props such as balls and bands to challenge the alignment, stability and mobility of the spine.

OSTEO: A class specifically designed for those people living with Osteoporosis. Class includes mat and standing work and the use of props.

HYDRATE: A foam roller and small ball class to assist in tissue hydration and sensory feedback.

RELAXATION / MEDITATION / NEUROSCIENCE

Mental and emotional resilience can be learnt at any age. These classes offer a way to understand, befriend and observe, with kindness and compassion, our moment-to-moment experiences.

YOGA NIDRA: Systematically training the body and mind to move into a deep level of relaxation with inner awakened awareness. Normally an evening practice to help you unwind from the day and to promote mental relaxation for a more restful sleep.

TAKING IN THE GOOD: A gratitude practice…focusing your awareness on positive things. Gratitude is associated with greater well-being like lifting your mood, increasing satisfaction with life and building resilience. Cultivating gratitude has lasting and important physical and mental health benefits.

MINDFULNESS MEDITATION: Meditation can be conducted in a chair, seated or lying. Learning the methods outlined by ancient meditation practices, we learn to understand and work with our experience and how we relate to our thoughts and feelings.

Meditation sessions can include: Metta (loving-kindness) / sound and chanting / breathing exercises / relaxation / gentle movement and guided visualisation.
